So I’ve been practicing my cake making skills lately and I concocted this beautiful masterpiece in honor of Rachel and Joey’s birthdays. It’s a four-layer checkered red velvet cake. Ok- So it’s pretty far from a masterpiece but it’s pretty impressive compared to Aubrey’s 1st birthday cake. Yikes! This one took me ALL day to finish- mostly because I kept running out of red food coloring and powered sugar. I went to the store 4 times that day! Am I dedicated or what?! Anyway, I’m actually pretty proud of myself because even though the fondant that I was trying to make didn’t work out I found an awesome recipe for the icing and the cake tasted even better than it looked, which for ME is either a complete miracle or I’m actually getting better at making cakes. Let’s hope for the latter since I have another much bigger one to do for a baby shower next week!

What a mess! These two girls have too much fun together playing with Everything! Toys just aren't enough entertainment for them. They would much rather scatter the toys, then move on to play with something more interesting like the phone or remote. When all else fails, nothing's more fun than sitting in decorative baskets! Too funny!
